Fundraising
The Association's charitable foundation carries out fundraising to support our work in research, heritage and international development. Donation opportunities are available for those wishing to give to the field of anaesthesia, both in the UK and Ireland, and overseas. You may wish to make a general donation or to donate to our fundraising appeal to support safer anaesthesia in Africa.

SAFE Africa
We are immensely proud of our fundraising campaign- SAFE Africa. The campaign is raising funds to support the Safer Anaesthesia from Education (SAFE) project, which we run in partnership with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA). The project has provided training and support to anaesthesia providers working in low resources settings, improving access to safe anaesthesia for patients around the world.
Why SAFE Africa?
Around the world people are suffering or dying unnecessarily from the lack of safe anaesthesia in surgery, something that is taken for granted in the UK. The situation is critical in Africa with anaesthesia death-rates as high as 1-in-150.
Money raised through SAFE Africa goes towards sustainable education through the SAFE programme throughout Africa.
We've developed simple and effective three-day obstetrics and paediatrics training courses, provided by the Association and the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), that equip practitioners to deliver vigilant and competent anaesthesia. So far these have been delivered in over 30 countries and trained over 3,500 anaesthetic providers in life-saving anaesthesia techniques.
